Interval training or sprint training is a form of exercise workout in which you alternate short high intensity training "sprints" having a slower / lower intensity exercise recovery periods.
If perhaps you were exercising for a little bit you heard many fitness experts speak about coming into the "fat burning" zone and staying there for your stretch of time during each workout to enable you to lose weight or fat.
Well, new clinical tests are showing that doing steady state cardio for weight reduction is not as effective as interval training if you need to see real fat burning, leaner physiques and faster results.
Which scenario sounds safer to you?
1-Walk 30 minutes at the steady moderate rate and you could burn about 100 calories.
or
2-Do a 30 minute walk but as soon as you loosen up for 3-4 minutes you alternate 8 thirty second walking or jogging sprints with recovery walking. Using this type of workout you can burn over 150 calories during your workout.Runing for beginners will also help you to burn fats more quickly.
The calorie difference would possibly not appear like much (although it does add up with time).
What really is cool about interval training is it makes your complete muscles engage at the higher intensity (including your heart!) this means you raise your lean muscle mass much more than if you ever just walked at the steady moderate pace.
On top of that, for that participants while in the clinical training that did the interval training workouts, their metabolic process and fat burning capacity were higher every day and night following the interval training workout.
However, for that clinical study participants who walked steady state while in the "fat burning" zone - they basically burned calories only during the workout and also the other 23 hours through the day their metabolism was not higher than once they had not resolved in any respect.
So interval training has some good benefits:
- Burns more calories during your workout
- Burns more calories while in the hours following workout
- Makes one's body engage muscles much more when compared to a traditional steady state cardio routine this means you build more muscle. Muscle is a bit more metabolically active than fat this means you having more muscle means you can use-up more calories each day and night.
For anyone who is out of shape or have not done any interval training, you might begin by adding 2 - 3 high intensity intervals per workout and after that work up to 8 - 10 per workout.
